My first tutorial ever, and look how long it is! 
This is how I do most of my pictures in Adobe Photoshop CS, if you're using 7.0 it might be slightly different. I know it's long but it does have a lot of information you might want to take a look at

I hate gimp, if only I had a fuzzier brush xD
Nice tutorial anyway, I like how it's kinda like a complicated cell shading style.
I'll just stick to mspaint and a pencil for now...
